Plant Manager - Jefferson, WI


JOB SUMMARY:The Plant Manager position is directly responsible for safety management, staff recruiting, development and retention, facility maintenance, and the overall efficient, effective cost management of the cryogenic air separation operation while complying with all regulatory agencies and requirements including, but not limited to OSHA and FDA, and Airgas policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:Safety and Regulatory Compliance
  • Promotes and develops safe work behaviors. Provides direct coaching to improve associates safety behaviors resulting in an improved safety culture
  • Performs safety incident investigations recommending corrective actions to eliminate recurrences
  • Develops training tools to support AMG s safety, regulatory, continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Ensures all applicable regulatory (OSHA, FDA, EPA) requirements are met and applicable training and record-keeping is performed to meet departmental and location deadlines
Personnel / Personnel Development
  • Provides supervision of direct reports, in accordance with the organization s policies, procedures and applicable laws
  • Ensures sufficient operations staffing levels; works with the Human Resources Department to develop recruitment, staff development and retention strategies
  • Major accountabilities include interviewing, hiring, training associates, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising and developing performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Business / Facility Management & Support
  • Ensures proper operation and maintenance of plant, controls expenses thru proper scheduling and execution of preventative maintenance and planned outages
  • Regularly reviews operational expenses with the ability to explain variances and recommend appropriate actions; prepares/executes budget optimization (capex and opex)
  • Adheres to a sustainable process for operational files and records; completes all required paperwork accurately, timely and in compliance with various company policies and procedures, to ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Continuous improvement of all applicable safety, environmental, quality and compliance programs
Quality / Technical Support
  • Ensures maintenance of instrumentation, electrical systems, compressors, pumps, turbines, valves, motors, and other plant equipment
  • Ensures maintenance of environmental, safety, quality assurance, and FDA compliance systems and programs including spare parts, preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance
  • Ensures monitoring and process evaluation of a site facility including evaluation of current process conditions and implementation of plant loading plans; evaluates and implements continuous improvement opportunities and ideas
  • 24 hour on-call responsibility

Air Separation Demonstrates advanced understanding of air separation and associated technologies Instrumentation and Electrical Demonstrates an understanding of electrical principals in practical situations involving the operation and repair of complex electrical devices Mechanical aptitude - Demonstrates basic skills in mechanical systems maintenance Maintenance Programs - Familiar with modern maintenance programs, asset management systems and principals Leadership Candidate must have demonstrated knowledge and ability for using basic leadership skills to effectively engage and manage a production staffEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent education and experience Prior operations management of an air separation facility a plus Prior experience with supervising a staff is preferredCOMPUTER SKILLS: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Occasionally (1-33% of work time)COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
