Vehicle Description I purchased this bike from its original owner.
He is no longer able to ride due to his health.
He purchased this bike after seeing the Harley Show Bike on display at the Black Hills Rally in Sturgis, SD.
Upon returning from the Rally, he went to his local dealer and commissioned them to create a duplicate of the Road Kind that he saw on display.
By the time he bought the bike and had it customized, the total cost was almost $40,000.
The custom paint along was almost $6000.
That is hard to comprehend! There is a lot of chrome on this bike.
The big bold headlight bezel has always drawn me to the Road King, and I have owned quite a few.
The addition of just about every possible chrome trim makes this bike gleam.
The two tone paint combined with all the chrome brilliance had me hooked the first time I saw it.
It took me almost three months to come to terms with the owner of the bike.
He had quite an emotional attachment, as he was the original owner and it was he that commissioned the customization.
He was asking quite a bit, yet the appearance of the bike, the condition and the low mileage made his asking price realistic.
Eventually we came to terms and I picked the bike up.
He had installed a new battery and new tires in 2019.
Then he became ill.
The bike had not been ridden for two years.
But it was ready to go.
Some fresh gas, a charged battery, new fluids, safety check and it was ready to ride.
A full morning was spent detailing the bike.
It allowed me to appreciate its beauty.
This bike has only been ridden 18,333 miles.
It has not been down.
It is in phenomenal condition for its age.
Yet, the limited usage has allowed it to remain in climate controlled storage.
The 1338 cc Evolution V-Twin starts and runs great.
The factory carburetor was swapped out for a Mikuni.
The Mikuni allows for quick altitude compensation adjustment.
That's important if you want to ride West of Sturgis and into the mountains.
Kerker fishtail pipes have been installed.
The clutch is good and the five speed transmission shifts properly.
The brakes are good.
All lights work properly.
Throttle Grip Cruise Control has been added.
There is a lead for a battery tender.
The docking hardware has been added to both the front and rear of the Road King.
This allows for the windshield to be taken off and re-installed in less than one minute.
The rear luggage rack/back rest or the Tour Pak can also be taken off and re-installed in a short amount of time.
The Custom Harley Davidson seat has the docking hardware for the Rider's backrest.
The Road King is ready to be enjoyed.
It has been fully detailed and polished.
It passed a thorough inspection in flying color.
All you will need to do is fill the fuel tank and install your favorite attachments.
The overall look of this bike is very alluring to me.
I prefer it without attachments, but find it quite attractive no matter how it is equipped.
The condition, low mileage and overall appearance justifies the asking price for this bike.
It is totally unique and will stand alone no matter how big the gathering.
